As for the tiger...apparently the tiger in question is an old (18 yrs) female named Mai. Mai lost a leg as a cub, and as such has been dependent on human beings most of her life, meaning (according to the zoo staff) she’s typically friendlier to humans and less aggressive than most tigers. That may be the reason Eide is still alive rather than a large lump of tiger poo right now.
