I think the tactic is called “gas lighting”, a diversion or even outright false statement to get you to question yourself until they leave the room, leaving neutral parties with false outcome impression.
It is abusive in nature.

That was very interesting. I have seen this type of behavior in the work place and with very aggressive salesmen.
The bottom line is you can't work/negotiate with people who are NOT genuinely interested in solving problems and you cant do business with people who are not trustworthy. That is why we cant trust so many politicians.
