I was going to post the Mao Zedong Chinese proverb “Let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred schools of thought contend,” but hanzi no longer works in FR :-( my point was that Mao didn’t mean it either: for liberals, “diversity” means “celebrate everything we think should be celebrated, oppose everything we think should be opposed.”
Oh yeah, let's squash Christians as party-poopers. Meanwhile let's celebrate islamic traditions in school that foster beheadings and other cruelty. Blame the Christians and ignore real problems like islam infiltrating.
The thing is, the immigrants must embrace diversity by acknowledging that they have to assimilate to the major tenets of the hostes and not demand to limit the cultures of either other immigrants or the national cultures. No sharia demands in other words.
Learn and practice the national language and spectrum of legitimate political opinions. You don’t have to give up your foods or religions (unless it’s practices and rules are incompatible with American religions which is mostly Christian).
Learn the social rules of polite discourse and Constitutionally compliant laws and regulations.

Maplewood NJ was one of the whitest, wealthiest, and most cosmopolitan suburbs in metro New York City in the 1960’s and 70’s.
As for Evangelical Christians, I spent much of my youth in the Deep South, and I recall only two families in my school that refused to celebrate Halloween, and one of them was the minister's family of a local Evangelical church.
I currently live near Seattle in a town that is 35% foreign born.
I can tell you that immigrants love Halloween!
I walked through our local upscale mall last night on my to the grocery store. Parents, and kids wearing costumes, were packed shoulder-to-shoulder inside. I have never seen anything like that! And, since most of them are Asians, everyone was polite and calm and respectful of everyone else's extremely limited space. Completely remarkable.
But if it is a case like this, almost always it'll be ‘numerous complaints’ or ‘a high percentage of the student body’, etc. No concrete fact to trip up the fibber later when someone goes ‘wait, this was because two people complained?’
We are told by liberals all the time that going to Muslim temples is part of diversity. That learning the points of Kwanza is part of diversity, that we must embrace all cultures and viewpoints.
Well, least viewpoints that celebrate anyone other than the majority. Those must be suppressed in the name of diversity.
Just as we've made our children's playgrounds so safe and utterly dull that few children wish to leave the comfort of the couch and whatever form of mindless game they can lay their hands on, we too have removed the risk of being offended from most of their lives. We strike out failures (A T instead of an F to TRY HARDER, promotion with grade no matter what the actual tests show, everyone gets a trophy in team sports, even if they lost every game, etc.)
We don't equip our children with the skills needed to manage their bodies as they grow, about learning the hard truths of risk and reward, about knowing that if you don't put in the effort, you don't get the trophy. We coddle them from cradle to mid twenties, and then sit back and shake our heads and wonder why these now adults don't have any urge to get a good job, or pay back student loans, or excel in any fashion.
Why should they? There's no failure - we drilled it into their minds for well over a decade. There will always be someone to fix it...
In the name of safety and diversity and inclusion, we have handicapped a generation, and going on the second now. That, to me, is probably the biggest problem our country faces. Because I'm not getting any younger, and neither are most of us here. At some point, these young adults have to grow up and learn about life. Just hope it happens before there's nothing left for them.

I almost had to bust one of the bruthas in the head with an entrenching tool from behind the seat.
He was panhandling (while driveing around!) and when I did not give him my money he started yelling about me not respecting him.
I told him to get a job and I might.
But I kept my money.
