I believe I recall reading about this man in the excellent book “No Greater Glory” about the battle for Fallujah.

Denied MOH because there was some doubt he was conscious...

Because the unconscious often scoop up live grenades and shield their buddies from the blast as a gallant dieing act...

SecDef should correct and award Sgt Peralta the MOH...Perhaps a Pres Cruz or Trump could correct this injustice...
