My son and grandsons get four gifts each: Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read. We shop all year long for Christmas gifts and spread our expense out. Find some interesting things for gifts which we happen onto, generally at small stores in small cities, when traveling. Need to add some cash for them to buy the “something they want”, bake home made cookies for all the business clients, decorate the house and it’s done. The thought of shopping in stores filled with Chinese merchandise with the thundering herds the day after Thanksgiving is just not on my bucket list.
>>>Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read<<<
Thank you for that. I’ll be showing that to my Wife before she starts her Christmas Shopping for all the Kids in the Family.
I like the idea something to read.
Too tight a budget here for wants and truly nobody needs anything. Too much stuff already. I do near to zero cost homemade gifts every year. For the extended family get together, it’ll be homemade jelly from free fruit so the sugar and jars have made this the most costly year but had to make use of all the fruit.
Froze a lot, ate a lot fresh, dehydrated a lot and canned a lot but couldn’t give any away fresh. What’s with people now days who won’t accept garden fresh fruits and vegetables? It’s organic (!) and fresher than the store but they act like you’re handing them a dead rat. No wonder the country is in such a mess.
Amen, amen!!!
Homemade IS the very best.
We had an abundant harvest of plums this year, thanks be to the Lord, and I’ll be giving away my Plum jams, along with homemade cookies, fudge and toffee.
I like your *shopping* style ;-)
