I’ve been looking for something inexpensive to stream I Heart Radio for our (small) sales floor. I know I would have to use external speakers, but that’s not a problem.

Would something like the Kindle Fire be good for this purpose?

I haven’t tried music yet. Just some web surfing and reading books.

I use an old Kindle Fire (first generation) to do exactly that. It sits out there on my dirty work bench streaming I-Heart or Pandora. Some days it may be 110* in the shop.

Mine pugs into a car radio, into a car amp (household amps couldn’t handle the cold, heat and humidity) and big speakers.
