I remember back in mid July, the Mets had lost a couple of games to Washington, they were about 5 games out of first, their record was around .500, they were a terrible hitting team...and their fans were trashing them and giving up on.

Now look at them...and their fans.

Not this fan. I’ve been rooting for the Mets since 1964, and have never given up on them.

But I will admit that there ARE plenty of fair-weather friends in the Met camp.

Oh well....on to the Series!
