Maybe he deserved better. But I think men ought to take a close look at the business of eight wives, and the tendency of rich and prominent men to buy a beautiful and young bride and then a few years later, buy another one. This sad end suggests to me the problem if men marrying what their eyes see and their small brains want, rather than approach marriage like a business deal, with a smart, virtuous and loyal partner.

If you don't want a virtuous woman, don't marry.

Men, think with your bigger brain. Here on FR is the wimmin-haters club if embittered ex-husbands. Did you seek a mate, or did you just buy a pair of perky boobs, some highlighted hair and a baby face? Did all that pall quickly, and fall apart?
