A lot of pivoting camera movement. Is that for the 3-D audiences or short attention spans?
ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
Imagine taking the DVD movie to a public school for show and tell....
JJ Abrams sucks. The last Star Trek movie was garbage. Unoriginal and just mixed up the plots of the show and movie to no good end.
His library reads like Syfy’s mockblusters. Super 8 was a sad ripoff of ET. The shaky camera monster movie sucked. Lost made no sense. The guy runs 20 yards in 100 yard race.
It’s a shame they put this talentless panderer in charge of both Star Trek and Star Wars. He’s a poor man’s Michael Bay.
He doesn’t have a creative bone in his body. This Star Wars could be worse than ‘The Phantom Menace’.
I’m not sure. I agree that Star Trek in his hands was a mistake, but he was not a true fan of that series. Star Wars I think he has a passion and love for; so, I may be a sucker, but I will see this film and see how it goes. Harrison’s voice and lines in the trailer give me chills as it did in the last one. I’m certainly no fan of the prequels, but I think this will exceed it.
Abrams has said some things that make me feel better about this sequel. Numero uno: no mention of midichlorians...
How about the fact that he’s gone back to pure cinematography with real sets and costumes? With all due respect to doubters, I think this will be one of the most epic Star Wars films in the franchise to date. JJ Abrams makes beautiful movies and television shows. If this movie falters, it’ll be due to the story not the cinematography.
Get ready for lens flares!
Del Rey Books editor Shelly Shapiro has revealed that the upcoming Star Wars novel Lords Of The Sith, written by Paul S. Kemp, will introduce the first canonical LGBT character in the world of the science fiction juggernaut.
Trailer looks promising, but a lot can go wrong here with writing and direction. JJ Abrams is like a wannabe Spielberg clone on ritalin, so I have my concerns about the overall presentation.
I really like the actor, John Boyega, but wonder how they will explain a black storm trooper. I thought storm troopers were clones, so perhaps there will be a twist.
If he kills a character I’ve loved for 30 years (Han), I won’t be seeing it.
Completely agree...this trailer kicks ass!
I’ve heard that Ford wants Han killed off.
Exactly! The practical effects and sets are what will set this above the prequels where half the time, the actors thought was a joke with all of the green screen, which gave them no real interaction or inspiration!
As for the story, I’m not worried. 1) George Lucas isn’t writing it 2) we have Lawrence Kasdan writing it, and we all love Empire Strikes Back & Indiana Jones, right? 3) It’s new territory.
That’s just the literary aspect of Star Wars, that can be ignored.
I agree.
I rarely see films in theaters these days but I'll definitely be seeing this one on the big screen. Probably have to wait until February though for the crowds to thin out.
Yeah, I know. I don’t care what Ford wants. :-D
