I could get audio this morning, but the green screen of death for video. Every time I have a Youtube issue, I open up Mozilla and the problem is gone. The problems only occur on IE.

Thanks. I switched my browser from Internet Explorer to Firefox and now I have audio.
You still running Windows XP?
I had to switch to Firefox too since XP and IE-8 were no longer supported by Youtube........

If you do switch, I recommend the 32-bit Cyberfox, since FF is a 32-bit program. I think the extensions are more compatible with the 32-bit version than with the 64-bit version.

The video green screen is because your video codec is probably out of date.
You might check for more current IE video codec files.

Ok, thanks. The laptop is a 64-bit so that’s what I would have thought I should use.

That was the first thing I checked.
Actually, it was the second. First I made sure my computer was on and then I checked to see if the speakers were plugged in and my beeber was set for stune.

I see your problem has been fixed by the help of FReepers. For future reference, sometimes youtube resets to MUTE automatically for reasons unknown to me.
All I have to do is hit the mute button to turn the sound back on.

Yeah. I took a huge chance by turning to my fellow FReepers for computer help but it turned out okay. We seem to have lost our edge. We must be getting old.
The weird thing is there's not even a speaker icon to click on the youtube box. The speaker icon on my computer disappeared for a while but when I rebooted it showed back up.
Computers are fascinating. I think they may be the wave of the future.
