Smith &Wesson makes a nice 22 magnum revolver with a very manageable trigger pull in double action and three pounds in single action. IIRC it holds seven or eight rounds. With modern ammo that would be a better alternative for seniors, women, and the disabled. One round of even hollow point 38 spl is not superior to eight of modern 22 magnum hollow point Gold Dots.
My carry piece is an eight shot snubby in 22 magnum, from Taurus in their 941 series. I replaced the hammer spring with a twelve pound pull and it is a nice tool even with my arthiritic fingers.
