Dust COULD be a factor, since The Homestead is still nominally a working ranch (got a real nice view of the North Rim of Yellowstone over the monitor), but Grandma is so anal about cleaning the housecat and small dogs all go into hiding as soon as she walks toward the closet where the cleaning gear is stored. (The little terrier tries to attack the vacuum and any broom/mop/duster hits the floor, but they’re all bigger than she is, so....)

Still, it’s been a while since I checked the desktop fans/filters, so thanks again for the reminder.

...but me run the CPU at 100%????

Ain’t happening. Gotta be dust or maybe even stray bits of the tinfoil hats that have gone into style lately.

crapware and/or viruses running in the background can easily run the cpu to 100%, generating mucho heat.
