there was a dish my Polish/Ukrainian/Russian childhood culture had that was simply "cabbage and noodles"....

you cook up your cabbage along with onions in lots of butter, and when all done, you add cooked egg noodles, S/P.....

comfy food...

I ate lots of cabbage & noodles when growing up. if times were good there was a little bacon and sour cream in it.
