Dan Snyder’s problem is that, for all of his business acumen, he’s clueless about football.
He really needs to step back and let the football people do their job instead of second-guessing them or trying to play General Manager himself.

I’ll never understand why Jack Kent Cook did not set the Redskins up so that his family could maintain control. In his will, Cooke left the team and stadium to his foundation with instructions to sell it.
Well, they got $800 million for the Redskins and the stadium, so all was not lost, but he has been, as you point out, a lousy owner!
I lived in the DC area when he bought the Redskins, and I remember that he serially pissed off the fans, the players, the press and the coaches, not necessarily in that order.
Are all four groups still pissed off at him?
