I think you are over-reacting to doorgunner69’s post. It didn’t seem to me the post was denigrating real service animals and the people who need them (such as real, disabled veterans) as much as otherwise healthy people who are dishonest enough to try to pass off their pets as service animals.
Just my 2-cents.
You are correct. Maybe because of where I have lived, never yet seen a dog that was not helping someone that obviously had issues navigating. Here there is one guy my age rides a Harley with his dog in a small cage on his back. Brings him into the gym. Might be one of those stress relief things. Dog stays in the little cage while he works out and watches it all, no big deal.
Daily, I see Pomeranians (cute as hell) riding in shopping carts, Chihuahuas in purses, etc. "Service"? Servicing what? The woman's ego?
True "Service" dogs seems to be of size, and obviously alert and intelligent. This dog as a fashion accessory thing is a farce. I hope the dogs crap in those purses.
