I didn’t know what yoga pants were so I googled it.,

Oh that’s what I wear at the gym. Or on laundry day when my pants are being washed,,

Other than the gym, I wouldn’t wear them in public. But then, I hardly wear jeans. I wear preppie pants. Like dockers for women. Jeans on weekends.

I don’t know why you would wear yoga pants for anything other than the gym, but in my Grandmother’s day women dressed up for Broadway shows complete with hats, and of course traveling by train or plane you were dressed to the nines as well.,

Housewives even wore dresses during the day like
Lucy and Mrs.,Cleaver. Those days are long gone.

The claim is that "they're so comfortable," but if they're so comfortable, why are pantyhose too uncomfortable to wear, rather than being all dressed up with one's bruised shins and mosquito bites in full view?

Yep, I wear yoga pants at home and for working out, too. They’re a step up from sweats and still very comfortable. But I wouldn’t wear them outside the house.

My mother was older when she had me, so she was part of the generation of my friends’ grandparents. I remember being very young, and hearing her complain that no one wore white gloves anymore. I still have a couple of pairs of her old ones, kept away in a drawer.
