I'll start it off in no certain order:
"Here's looking at you kid." Casablanca
"Make my day". Dirty Harry
"You had me at hello." Jerry Mcquire
"You make me complete." Jerry Mcguire
"We were on a break!" Friends
"Norm!" Cheers
"To the moon, Alice." The Honeymooners
G & G- good show on early TV. Recently found it repeated on either Hot TV Network or Retro Network. The couple doing what they do. Funny!! Gracie was a gem When the digital tee vee signal was introduced and the many sub-stations appeared on air the Nationl treasure of early TV was revived and our younguns could laugh at the same shows we, as younguns, enjoyed. Leave it To Beaver, G&G, Man with a Camera, So many old shows going over the waves.
Sorry guy, I didn't even have to Google that one because I know that movie so well. It really is... "I'll be your huckleberry", not huckle bearer.
I looked up the phrase just now and it actually existed and means I'll be your dance partner. Of course Holiday's implication meant "I'll fight (dance) with you".
"Are you just going to stand there and bleed?" Tombstone. Not an everyday saying, but a cool line.
Classic!
Ya big dummy - Sanford and Son
“Whos’ on first?” Abbott and Costello
Good ones. But isn’t “And don’t call me Shirley” from Airplane?
Oh Stewardess...Perhaps I can be of some assistance. I speak Jive.
Barbara Billingsly...Airplane
Just seeing this thread, so this one’s probably somewhere in the queue.....”What we have here is a failure to communicate” - Strother Martin in ‘Cool Hand Luke’.
Show me the money! — Jerry Mcguire
I stand corrected. I went to the script on IMDB and it is huckleberry.
I’m about 150 into the replies and I haven’t seen this one...
“Who ya gonna call?”
Try using that in a conversation, and not having everyone who hears it immediately think “Ghostbusters!”most likely someone will say it as well.
One liners only please that are widely known and ingrained into the American pop culture. Thanks for playing and you get an official board game from some lame quiz show. Har!
Must have missed that one. So it doesn't count according to my rules. Haha!
I think that is great, I’ve always loved Clark Gable, for whatever reason in some way I see him as the ideal man.
And Edith’s rejoinder “Oooooh Archie....”
“I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too” Wizard of Oz. Classic witch’s line. I use it all the time along with her final scene,”I’m melting”
Can't believe I didn't include that above. Classic line that everybody recognizes unless they live on a different planet or sucked into Party Down South and other trash reality shows.
BTW, The Soup is one of my favorite shows. Joel McHale so enjoys poking fun at all the stupid antics of anyone. Surprised the E! channel let's him trash the Kartrashians. He's even taken some shots at "I'm Caitlyn" show on the same network.
Again, "Show Me the Money!" is forever ingrained into our pop culture. I often read it on the Internet.
Oops, breaking my own rule by being too wordy. To get back...
"Where's the Beaver?" Leave It To Beaver
“There’s no basement at the Alamo!”. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
