In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Virago

As long as we are posting other articles this AM, let me offer this shameful example which is all the buzz in Wisconsin this week.
Disgusting
:)
Generalities, m’love.
Great wimmen folk, no matter. ;)
That was sweet.
Had to rag on ya ; )
Like my mom does.
Like some others here, I’ve been labeled with today’s word a few times-but more often, I’ve just been called a bitch...
Hillary may be a virago
But not one you’d admire
From day one her attitude
Has lit gasoline on fire...
As the 1st lady she decreed
No staffers look in her face-
Not even secret service guys
Who guarded her and the place
Over time she has not become
Any nicer-in fact she’s worse
She’d send the ashtrays flying
And be screaming every curse....
That isn’t that idiot’s business-and I’ll just bet it isn’t in his job description, either. He is just trolling for nubile playmates-if he wants to do that, let him do it on his own time and his own dime...
He’s keeping his job. Today, he got the Charlie Sykes’ Deep Tunnel award. Charlie is a conservative radio talk show host in the Milwaukee area. The Deep Tunnel award is named after Milwaukee’s Deep Tunnel — a sewage tunnel designed to take excess storm water in Milwaukee to keep it our of the Lake, which doesn’t work and it’s regularly overflowing and dumping storm water plus sewage into Lake Michigan. It’s not a flattering award.
I heard someone say on Fox News this AM that the trouble with today’s colleges is that students have the right to have sex anywhere, anytime, but they must be protected at all times from words that could be thought to be hurtful!
That just about sums it up, doesn’t it?
That certainly seems to be a big part of the problem-I still think that pig is using his out-of-line communications as a tool to get sex with female students-and when did that become okay? When I was in college, a prof was summarily fired for dating/having a sexual relationship with a student-and the student was expelled or suspended for a time.
I foolishly got involved with a prof less than 5 years older than me but somehow managed not to get busted-I know what the draconian but effective penalties were then...
Agreed, totally.
And CONGRATS to YOU! Awesome.
Just hearing about that virago gives me vertigo. A++++
It’s the equivalent of the average 5 year old child, if you can grasp that! I’ve got a lot more to go.
Yikes! In what world does he still have a job?
In Wisconsin education. These are the same folks who hate Scott Walker. Talk radio has been burning up about this. If I had a child in that dorm, I’d yank them out.
Thank you!
So they look the other way. Now if he managed to seduce their young daughter, would it be a case of NIMBY or what?
Since most students are 18 or over-adults-if they refused to budge because they are adults, I’d play dirty-if they insist on staying, they will do it without any further financial assistance from home-not to pay for dorm, books, tuition, food-and if the car they are driving is not in their name, I insist on having that back in my driveway, ahorita...
A bit harsh, but I know from experience that it only needs to be done once, and produces the desired results as soon as hunger sets in on an empty bank account...
