Two young Muslim sisters whose religious headpieces were torn off in a scuffle with NYPD cops have landed a $97,500 settlement from the city.
The officers approached the girls, ages 12 and 14, in a Bronx playground at around 8 p.m. on an August day in 2013 and ordered them to leave because it was closed, according to a Manhattan federal court lawsuit filed by their mom.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the girls being Muslims or police deliberately targeting their head rags. It has everything to do with them being rowdy, not complying with police instruction and getting into a scuffle with the police. Did the police overreact? Possibly. But it had nothing to do with them being Muslims or having head rags on.
Their lawyer probably got half of it - it’s still good money!
Why such a high amount? Westerners, and Americans in particular have to get used to dealing with muslims. You can correct a legal error without over compensating. At this rate, the next such case will be awarded over $140K, or the same amount for not baking a gay wedding cake. Stop bending over backwards to apologize. You see where that has gotten most of europe.
Hopefully the creep moozlum family has enough money to buy a one-way ticket back to their crummy home country. The judge in this case must have been a LI(B idiot.

I don’t really believe in Indians wearing Turbans if they are cops or in the military. I think the uniform should be just that: uniform. It creates a cohesiveness and predictability for those they serve. More importantly, the uniform signifies there job of serving the public is more important than one’s own religious beliefs.
Stop the kowtowing to every little offended cretin.

It took place in an inner city play ground. I will also bet that the cop who rousted them was African American..same as the two Muslims sisters.
