I once lived in Gonzales. Adopted it as my second home town. Back then, a great place.
The sheriff's office there has a heck of a nice rifle range. Worked a few CMP M1 Garand "clinics" there, some fifteen years ago. At this time of year, morning fog obscures the targets in the morning - gotta wait until the sun burns it off. There's usually enough fog remaining when the range goes hot, that bullet traces can be seen with the naked eye.
