Add to this the fact that the outlaw biker narrative has been largely controlled over time, not by members of the culture, but outsiders and the misconceptions grow. Case in point: the Waco incident. Sgt. Swanton of the Waco Police Department effectively controlled the story of what happened on May 17, 2015, and it appears that story has already begun to unravel. Regardless of what ultimately is shown to be the truth about the events in Waco, if history tells us anything it's that that story will not likely be broadcast as widely as the law enforcement narrative was ... if at all.

I didn’t write that. I’m just a pizza delivery guy, so says Gator.
Here’s who wrote it -
William Dulaney, a professor at the U.S. Air Force Air Command & Staff College, researches motorcycle outlaws and is a biker himself. His doctoral degree dissertation focused on the identity and culture of America’s outlaw motorcycle community. The views expressed are his own. Watch more as Lisa Ling goes inside the Mongols biker nation this Wednesday on CNN at 9 p.m. ET.
O.K. He still needs to talk with the Gator, though.
.
In a nutshell, you’ve said it!
You know what they say about pictures and words. ;)
Maybe TG will go next year and give them his usual speech.
I thought we were all subhumans?
Well, we all have to be something. And anyone who can cause Texas Gator and his posse so much grief can’t be all bad.
;D
When normal people look at that photo they see a bunch of motorcyclists enjoying the freedom to take a weekend off from the daily grind, and be patriotic and stand up in an organized manner to insist Washington recognize their existence.
When the Swantons of this world look at that photo, I suspect they are quietly calculating in their minds how many rounds, and how many flexcuffs, it would take to round them all up.
When the Reynas of this world look at that photo, I suspect they are quietly calculating in their minds how much they could book through civil asset forfeiture, and how powerful and important they would feel prosecuting them all.
Considering Swenton's unit was commended for their involvement in cleaning up after the last Waco Massacre, I'm not so sure. This isn't his first rodeo.
Indeed.
While W made a point to be there and meet with them every year, Obeyme makes sure he’s nowhere near DC that weekend.
Makes a point.
Once more...
The leather clothing is protective equipment. Hit pavement at 60 sometime and see how long other fabrics last (write me from the burn ward where you are getting new skin pasted all over you if you aren't wearing good leathers).
Leathers come mainly in basic black.
Patches on vests designate which group you belong to, should you belong to a group. Without them, try finding your friends at Sturgis or Daytona in a sea of--you guessed it--a few hundred thousand others dressed in black leather.
The 'fashion' similarities are practical matter, not a fashion statement, even though you would assert that 99% are trying desperately to appear like 1%.
Organization keeps the group together, provides for contingency planning, improved safety, and also provides the means to be self-policing if there is a problem in the group. VIrtually any group has this and other organizational aspects...
President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Sergeant at Arms...(OMG! It's just like the garden club!--You know those evil plant-growing little old ladies!)
Okay, maybe they don't have a Sergeant at Arms, but most College Fraternities have all those, as do police organizations and volunteer fire departments. (I'd bet they all have by-laws, too.)
These are fundamentals of organization which are pretty much universal because they work. At this point, who adopted which when is moot.
Who were briefed by the SPLC...
How the heck do the members of one Country Club dominate local political Party organizations?
They get involved.
That does it junior. No more milk for you. Boobies are evil, don'tcha know.
Sheesh.
*Somebody* never got over being a bottle baby.
;D
You said: “This isn’t his first rodeo.”
You’re correct. He was on board at the Branch Davidian massacre. So was BATF with ComDem direction.
You said: “Who were briefed by the SPLC”
Crazy as is sounds, it has happened in the past. Part of the insane structure of the BATF leadership (loose term).
I came across a couple of biker churches in NC in my meanderings on the internet. When I get back down there I would love to visit. Someday, Lord willing.
enjoy a video...
