Ugh! My wife wants one of those things. I have no desire to be part of that culture. They take up valuable garage space, are slow, are hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I've had all kinds of toys, like an airplane, Harley, snow machine, but I have no desire to ever own a golf cart.

This would have happened in the early 90’s but there’s nothing special about the plain vanilla golf cart. If you look around today....they sell you kits to upgrade your cart in terms of looks or you can have it pimped out in various looks. The golf cart of today is highly desired. And speed wise....they’ve all gotten themselves ‘enhanced’.

In the Villages.... Isn't that the venereal disease capital of Florida?

Not too long ago you could get on for free. I think they stopped that program though.

I’d love a golf cart if I thought it would be safe to drive on my small city’s streets.

I think this could have enourmous potential if the pathways would also allow self driving delivery robots.

Golf-cart drivers in The Villages are scary. Of course, so are regular-car drivers ...

I have family that lives in the Villages and I’ve spent some time there and traveling by cart is A-ok. You can go pretty much anywhere in the Villages by cart, and why not they’re easier to park.
If you go to one of the “cruise-ins” you’ll see a lot of fancy carts. Of course the nightly dances in the square can be a bit of a shock if you’re not used to seeing the 60+ crowd “boogie”.
One other thing I’ve found there is that the vast majority of the people there are fiscally conservative. There’s also a strong streak of not caring how people live. I guess when you’re in the home stretch, no one wants to waste time worrying about what someone else does.
