Ok...I’m stupid. What’s the difference between a tablet and a laptop?

Tablet is a slate like (solid one piece no hinge). A laptop has an attached keyboard and folds.

Technically nothing other than size. With a larger size you can pack in more graphics, ports, battery, cooling, and a much better keyboard. With better cooling you can run your processor(cpu/graphics) harder longer.

The tablet is 100% solid state....with no optical drives nor spinning hard drive..

Speeds are hard to explain...even faster than a phone..IMO...

Traditionally a laptop has a separate keyboard. Also, laptops didn’t have a touch screen.

IMO, the laptop still has the tablet beat. I can type a 50 page term paper on a laptop but it would be impossible to do the same on a tablet.

Actually, a desktop is best for major projects like a 50 page term paper.

Some laptops are all solid state now which means that they consume less power and are more portable.
