I have a feeling this is satire but if Bruce decides he wants to keep playing at being a girl and be somewhat presentable as one, he's going to have to retain a small army of make-up artists and spend hours a day getting himself primped up. I think for those Vanity Fare pictures, Brucie had to spend the entire day getting himself dolled up. I'm sure it will eventually get old.
Even real women who are over 65 need to put a lot of time behind the mirror and many of those just give it up and get the short "old-lady" hairdo and dress in frumpy clothes with white sneakers.
