“....anyone hear anything?” A loud woosh and me cheering as they blasted past? LOL! Saw a couple of them heading in to the Reno-Tahoe airport/Nevada Air Guard landing strip yesterday afternoon.

Grins - same here. A leftover from my happy nasal radiator childhood I guess, when my mom said ALWAYS wave, cuz whoever is in there, is our friend ;)
God bless ‘em, every one.
FLY! Navy!

It is called a touch and go. Pilots do it all the time to maintain proficiency.

Football game flyover, most likely given the time.
Best I’ve seen is a B-1B flyover of the Pepsi 400. Bad to the Bone!

Are you near Zephyr Hills?
There is a low level military training route VR-1006 that runs from the SW to NE nearby. These low level military training routes are set up for operations under 1500 ft.
This air chart may help identify the routes -
The low level military routes are shown as narrow gray lines.

Maybe they were coming home. We had a bunch of fighters relocated to Grissom because of the anticipated storm.

Best Ive seen is a B-1B flyover of the Pepsi 400. Bad to the Bone! Way back in the early 60s I worked in the woods with my older brothers cutting pulp wood for paper makers and chemical wood for charcoal and other solvents. There was a SAC base in the UP of Michigan (KI Sawyer AFB) and they would often overfly northern Wisconsin as they had remote radar pickets surrounding the base at quite a distance, they would try to penetrate their radar perimeter as a test. It was not unusual to go out to where we were working and find the area festooned with chaff which looked like Christmas tree tinsel.
We never saw the planes until a B-52 did a fly over directly overhead and so low the ground shook and I could not hear a chainsaw running a few feet away. It appeared and was gone in about two heartbeats. Eight engines belching black smoke and roaring like the crack of doom! I was impressed to say the least with my one and only view of a BUFF up close.
Regards,
GtG
PS I worked as a lumberjack to cover my first year college tuition.

Some years ago two Navy fighters did a flyover at a GaTech game...both pilots were alumni. It was really, REALLY low..they both lost their wings..there are some amazing videos on YouTube..well worth searching for..
