How sweet. Anyone who brings some happiness to sick children and the incapacitated elderly is doing a great work.

Perhaps they'd be happier with a Registered Therapy Ferret ©?

For the price of a horse, you could probably invest and train twenty Registered Therapy Ferrets ©.

Very nice. I don’t know much about these animals. Probably a hybrid developed. Never to be found roaming free. Do they neigh? Do they get along with full sized horses, or maybe there is no particular kinship between them. The mini horses may see just another grass eating animal.

What a great story. Thanks for posting that. Brings tears to the eyes. I just sent it to my daughter who is studying to be a veterinary technician. Her equestrian trainer just lost her miniature horse “Petey” at age 35! He was a great guy and brought a lot of joy to the kids at the barn over the many years.

The Pony Express experimented with these because their feed costs were so much lower.

But it took like 28 years to get a letter from New York to San Francisco.

One of my (Brilliant Rock Star) Students volunteers for a similar program here in S. Florida. The little horses are amazing therapy!

I have a friend that breeds them. They act just like a regular horse. I like the newborn minis because they are super small - like a medium sized dog - and rather playful and inquisitive at that age.

Prehistoric horses were quite small, so minis are kind of a throwback to the original horse.
