So you believe everyone who served in Vietnam is automatically a hero? Trump said McCain was a hero for surviving being a POW, but he wasn’t a hero simply for serving. Of course the MSM didn’t go with what Trump actually said. Also never mind that there are plenty of veterans who don’t consider McCain particularly heroic given his poor record as an aviator.

When McCain stopped us from going back to search for POW’s, that’s when his hero title disappeared in my mind. He is a scumbag politician now.
While what came out of Trump’s mouth sounded awful, I think what he was really saying is that he didn’t care for John McCain - “I prefer those who weren’t captured.” Looking at it in that context is the only thing that makes sense because he said 4 times that he was a hero. I just think it didn’t come out right - and it didn’t.
