Yes, pages that still use flash adverts seem to freeze on loading in newer browsers a good percentage of the time. Install AdBlockPlus, it will help just by stopping the flash from loading in the first place.

I have Ad block Plus and apparently it was not on so I turned it on and re-started the browser. We’ll see if that helps!

Yeah....but these particular websites don’t function at all when you block the ads...

At least that has been my experience..

I don’t have any issues at all with sites that do not depend heavily on advertising..but many do and if I block the ads, I usually cannot play the vid or media clip, or whatever it was I was looking for...

Not all web developers do this but it seems to be a growing problem..

I think this problem was anticipated by many...

Monetization of the web is now not only normal, but required by many entities..
