A group of students at American University labeling themselves the AU Justice League have taken credit for ripping down anti-abortion flyers on campus.
The campuss College Republicans put the flyers up Wednesday night, and called for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. But by Thursday morning, the vast majority of the flyers had disappeared.
It didnt take long to figure out why. At 12:30 a.m., the Twitter account @AUJusticeLeague tweeted a photo of dozens of crumpled-up flyers with the caption We had some fun with the college republican posters tonight. Let us know if we missed any guys!
The incident was first reported by Campus Reform, showing a picture of the Justice Leagues tweet before it was deleted. AU has no official group called the AU Justice League, and the Twitter account itself was very recently created, so its currently unclear whos responsible for ripping the flyers down, or how many people were involved.
The Justice League account engaged in brief Twitter spats with critics Thursday but by mid-afternoon, the account was deleted.
Sam Shumate, the vice president of the AU College Republicans, said the removal appeared to have been quite thorough.
Ive walked around campus, and they got just about all of them, Shumate told Campus Reform. I didnt see any.
Ironically, just two weeks ago, AUs faculty senate unanimously passed a resolution condemning the use of trigger warnings and emphasizing the important of freely exchanging ideas on university campuses. (RELATED: Faculty At American University Firmly Reject Twitter Mornings)
Attacks on anti-abortion displays at colleges are not uncommon. Last year at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a professor was arrested after she seized an anti-abortion display from a protester and then destroyed it. In 2012 at Dartmouth College, a Cemetery of the Innocents protest that used American flags to represent the number of abortions since 1973, was run over by a car. In 2006, a professor at Northern Kentucky University urged her students to use their express their freedom-of-speech rights by destroying an anti-abortion display, and then led them in doing exactly that.
So these pro-death people are not just self destructive, but they want to destroy others on their way out, too, including the unborn and those who want to protect the unborn.
My former tagline was "Obama wants to convert his suicidal followers into suicidal bombers."
I suspect you're not alone: These College Nazis probably hate themselves, too. :)
Amen bro. I know as Christians, we should not hate others, but sometimes it is REALLY hard not to. They are A holes, however.
I was a lib in college, but reality beyond the campus taught me it was time to grow up.
The perps will just say, "Those are for thee, not for me."
Back in the early 1990s I attended San Francisco State University, a liberal, Marxist hell hole if there ever was one. Off and on I would create unique fliers and place them around campus. One of my favorite creations caused some libs to protest others rights to free speech. I would get to campus early, place the signs near heavy walking areas; then I would sit near enough to hear their outrage. The sign read: White Men Can’t Jump, and Black Men Can’t Add. People just refused to admit that white stereotypes are bad.
Leftists are such good little nazis.
It destroys and tears things down instead of raising anything up.
You are too kind. Some are deceived, but some are the deceivers.
AU = Alternative Universe
AU Justice League, yep that’s in Bizarro World.
College lads love abortion, it allows them to objectify women and remain as though they are prince charming.
They must put the fliers up again. And again...and again...and again. They must show their conviction, their perseverance, their resilience in the face of the unreasonable (the unreasoning).
Exactly how tolerance and coexisting is suppose to take place....

I attended SFSU in the mid and late 90s, and heard stories about the hateful fliers previously posted on campus, and how they never found the person.
That was you!
I admit to doing it twice. I was always afraid of getting caught red handed.
