No doubt the other candidates are learning that lesson too. They are very circumspect about going after Trump head-on.
Rich Lowry and NRO died to me when they forced out John Derbyshire for telling non-racist truths about race in America. Lowry is a cowardly dipshit who has nothing to do with true conservatism.
National.review seems to have a death wish.
Washington DC,and its establishment, has failed. It’s that simple.
They’re all trying to out-Trump Trump now that they’ve realized the usual tactics aren’t working. The only difference is that Trump has a purpose to what he’s doing. They don’t. They think they’ve figured out Trump’s appeal, and think they can duplicate it by just venting their frustrations via insults and they think that everyone will now flock to them. Wrong again. First off, there are substantive reasons people are flocking to Trump and not to them. In addition, Trumps attacks are strategic. These losers are just throwing a temper tantrum.
Sounds hugh & series.
“American presidents are supposed to be beacons of hope steely figures in a dangerous world.”
Not so much.
Not in the Constitution.
We don’t need another let’s get along guy.
We need the Terminator who makes radical changes to roll back the plague of regulations, government agencies, failure on the world stage, etc. Someone with thick skin to take the fight after them.
Like many others, I wish he’d step up keeping on message.
He does understand that the media and establishment are enemies and he is taking the fight to them.
He is a lone voice.
If the media companies survive on ratings, hit them in their ratings.
If the establishment survives on lobbyist money, call them out.
Right on. Right on. go Trump. Decimate them.
Trump is petulant. If he can’t take the heat from Fox News how will he deal with the mainstream media. The guys is unelectable.
Another National Review crybaby desperately seeking relevance.
Florida freepers from the Central and Southern FR chapters had a great get-together Sept. 16 for a "FReep the Debates" large-screen TV viewing/private-facility party.
Co-hosts were MinuteGal/Leni and Ken50/50 (Ken).
Tasty buffet supper, fun debate-watching, many door prizes and, of course, fantastic freeper fellowship.
Present were many Tampa Bay-area freepers, lurkers and guests. Also honoring us with their presence were Matchett P-I who is the Florida Central FR Chapter Leader and Seek the Truth who is the Florida Southern Chapter Leader.
Co-host Ken50/50 circulated a GOP candidate straw poll for the attendees to fill out anonymously during the second debate.
The entire survey is posted on the Florida state forum board. Highlights of the poll are as follows:
Your first choice for the GOP nomination: Trump 45%, Cruz 22%, Carson 11%
Who would you NOT support under any circumstances: Jeb Bush 35%, Graham 28%, Trump 11%
Your most important issue: Illegal Immigration, 40%, Jobs/Economy 22%, Federal budget Deficit, 16%
Your 2nd most important issue: Jobs/Economy 22%, National Security/Foreign Policy 11%, Illegal Immigration 11%
Your least important issue: Same-sex marriage received 50% of the vote.
Choose your ideal GOP ticket (not necessarily your two top choices):
Trump was either 1st or 2nd on 38% of the vote
Cruz was either 1st or 2nd on 50% of the vote
Fiorino was either 1st or 2nd on 18% of the vote
The Ubermeister of the survey, Ken50/50 commented with several personal conclusions after tabulation, "First, Trump is the popular choice of Freepers attending the event and secondly, Cruz is a strong second and his support seems to be somewhat deeper than Trump's."
Ken added, "This straw poll would seem to agree with Cruz's apparent strategy (and his end game) of being nice to Trump and his supporters. If Trump's campaign falters, then Cruz is in line to pick up a lot of Trump's supporters...and even the Donald's endorsement."
I agree with Ken's analysis....and I think this is what that initial quiet meeting between Trump and Cruz a while back was all about...i.e., some kind of meeting of the two minds plus a long-range strategy of quiet but mutual cooperation.
What say you, freepers?
Leni/MinuteGal
(....see my tag line)
Trump can dish it out, but he can’t take it.
The author of this sour and snotty hit piece is a yuuuuuuuge supporter of "same-sex marriage". (See this article, which confirms that fact.)
(I think most of us could have easily guessed that by just looking at any of his online photos.)
GOPe does not like anyone getting uppity with them. Glad Trump is uppity.
Some say that GOPe shill Charles C. W. Cooke wears his underwear backwards, to enable easier access to Lefty sodomites...
