My sister-in-law and her husband owned a Shepherd for protection. They had to spell words when he was around; he was that smart. And every night, he would go out and do a perimeter check before going to bed.
He was a trained weapon, but with the family, he was a big baby. I remember being there when a repairman visited...he sat on top of my feet, facing the guy and growling, LOL.
I miss that dog.
I think “Provide a great guardian for safety” should be amended with an augmentation of “ to the death”.
