In all fairness to the characters, you seem to be contradicting yourself via the prior comment:

Manila battle. Final 70 of his 90 yrs
was spent with a titanium plate on the
top of his skull. He earned a 4yr
college degree in 2.5 yrs and
eventually earned a PhD in agriculture
education....combat vet, farmer,
teacher, hunter, FFA Advisor fisherman, Californian, and advocate
of the rural mindset.

Not for me. I enjoy Fear The Walking Dead. I think of it as separate from TWD, which I also enjoy.
I’ve been enjoying it since the first episode.
They were on cell phones, etc. The “Media” isn’t/wasn’t showing what’s really happening. Sorta like real life.
I’m enjoying this story. It’s being told from the beginning of what’s happening to this family/friends. The Walking Dead premier/pilot started from a few months into it so this is a different perspective and from a different area of the country.

I like his character the least at this point (and liked him from the pilot). I’m having the most difficult time relating/understanding his character right now. He’s the most selfish right now so maybe that’s why he annoys me.

He’s usually high. So not focused imo.
Alicia is a little snot.
And media and social media went down not long after the pilot so I don’t have a problem with that aspect.
It’s the least interesting part of the story for me. I’m enjoying the other characters way more.
