[ Nope he invented it, from raw materials, and everyone that thinks it looks like a bomb is a racist
Thats what my facebook feed says so it must be true!

someone commented on the site:
If I took a copy of Romeo and Juliet, ripped the front cover off, and put a new front cover on with my name written as the author, did I invent a new great work of literature? Should the President invite me over for a book signing?
This definitely puts a new spin on this case. Initially I had been supportive of the kid. Now, not so much.
You would think, with his dad owning a computer repair shop and all, that this kid would be more skilled - even at 14 - then to just take apart an old clock and call it a creation.
This is "Participation Trophy" time.
He called it his “invention”, and I was reminded of the description of 9/11: Primitive people flying machines their culture could never design into buildings their culture could never build...
Someone posted the reverse engineering how-to.
It’s a 1970s Radio Shack alarm clock. Literally anyone could do what he did and it took no knowledge of electronics.
We’re all a bunch of saps for going to work and paying taxes. Kid has the skids greased for him and made more than 99% of kids his age and all he did was pull a hoax.
The clock he assembled had to be plugged in to work and could only be read if the case was opened.
This is almost enough to make a man drink.
The MSM got Snookered in this “Rascist” arrest. The family won! Got 15 minutes of fame—got to go to White House. Not a bad scam really. Sad thing—next “Clock” might be hooked to a block of C-4 explosive. You can bet President Trump would not have met with him.
Nothing inventive about this “clock.” Amazing that the prez and media have managed to push this piece of theater this far.
Cool coffeemaker, Libertarian27. Keep inventing! /s
I jerry-rig appliances at home. Didn't know it was a sign of genius. Thought it was more about necessity living on a fixed income.
The clock was assembled in Hong Kong, he disassembled it in Irving Texas and put it in a metal pencil case. ;>)

UPDATED - Ahmed Mohammed Did Not “Invent” a Clock - He Didn’t Even Build a Clock - He Just Took a Clock Apart and Put It Part of the Way Back Together

“UPDATE”
“Heres another interesting factoid, from Jonathan Langdale. The Micronta clock has previously been used as the clock part of a bomb in bombings in the past, for example this bombing of, an Air India flight on the way to Canada killing 329 people.”
I suspect this was brought into school to create an alarmed reaction.

They’re sniffing the borders, looking for the weak spots....
Yep.
The boy had 2 of the 4 required components.
That is exactly the same mistake in thinking that the fools at the school made. So what if a kid has an alarm clock? Every house in America has at least "2 of the 4 required components". Along with every Target, Walmart, CVS, and other department store. And the stores have a whole arsenal of power sources and timers!!
Are you suggesting we send the bomb squad around to round up all the alarm clocks?
And in case you didn't notice, every teacher in the school has an even more sophisticated remote detonator and power source in their purse or pocket!
Run for the hills, any one of the teachers could assemble a remotely activated detonator!
“Bet daddy did the whole thing. He owns a computer repair business so he’s see everything many times over.”
That is my thought as well and the boy was/is covering up for his dad.
Inspired to #InventLikeAhmed, my 14 yr old "built" an iPhone. How do you say #IStandWithAhmed?

Daddy pulled apart a Radio shack clock and mounted the parts in a pencil case....
That took so much skill....
Wow Islamics can’t even build their own clock using breadboard, they have to just appropriate one from china...
