Police launch search after person goes over Niagara Falls

WIVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1gBA9ue ) it happened around 6 p.m. Saturday.

State park police officers told the television station the person reportedly went over the falls at Prospect Point.

I remember news reports of a kid who accidentally went over and survived. That was around 1960.

Ugh. If she was at Prospect point, she went over the American falls...you’re hitting boulders on that one. ugh. Both would be unimaginably bad, but I can’t see how you’d have any chance going over the American falls. At least there is some deep water the maid of the mist pool at Horseshoe.

I was there this week, the view from my hotel room could not have been any better.

Went there in February, 2 years ago.watching ice flow down the very rapid river then over the falls, makes ya wonder how that kid did it years ago, and survived?

I was there in winter as well and couldn’t believe the ice floes...I refused to get on the Maid of the Mist (?) boat - too scary for this coward!

Maid of the Mist was the most awesome part of our visit in 2011. Me and mah gurl (at the time) liked it so much we went three times. LOL

He said on a july weekend day they would have 240,000 visitors.
