The longer hours you mention shouldn’t be ignored when discussing the “wage gap”; the men I work with have become so disgusted at the shorter work days of women that many of us have taken to “working like girls” (working the bare minimum - which is still longer than many of the women). The non-discrimination policies designed by lawyers to protect women are now protecting us from any repercussions; there are too many electronic means available to prove the men are still working longer.
