It’s a complaint at least as old as “Sex and the City”: Where are all the good, dateable men? Why are there so many amazing women and so few acceptable mates for them? For a long time, the conclusions drawn were that women were doing something wrong. Too aggressive, not aggressive enough, not putting themselves out there, putting themselves out there a little too often.
A new book “Date-onomics: How Dating Became a Lopsided Numbers Game” by Jon Birger sets out to show that women aren’t doing anything wrong: There just aren’t enough Mr. Rights to go around.
Birger explains that this is the experience nationally, not just in oft-mentioned dating wastelands like New York City. With more women going to college than ever before, there are only so many baccalaureate bachelors for them to meet and marry.
That seems reasonable at first glance. Hey, if a woman is looking for someone with her level of education, and this is a deal-breaker for her, then sure, there’s a serious shortage of suitable men.
Birger points out that a woman who was 34 in 2007 began college in 1991 when women outnumbered men on college campuses by 10 percent. He notes that “in 2012, 34 percent more women than men graduated 4-year colleges.”
The numbers are indeed daunting. But they obscure a question all of these unmarried college-graduate women should be asking themselves: Why does a degree matter so much, anyway?
In his book “The Higher Education Bubble,” Glenn Reynolds quotes statistics showing that the cost of college has increased 439 percent since 1982. Reynolds’ book discusses the crippling debt many college graduates carry and how many of their degrees make the debt nearly impossible to ever erase.

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:
You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the product increases as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.
The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.
“Wow,” she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.
“Oh, mercy me!” she exclaims, “I can hardly stand it!”
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes on to the sixth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
With all that criteria, you better look more like Candice than Lena Dunham.
The political climate for years has been to move women and minorities into college to “decrease” the unfair advantage that “white” men have. (I guess that means we are smarter than them) This has led to an unprecedented number of men going into other areas and NOT into college.
Sounds like the women brought this onto themselves.
Once upon a time, there were more men on campus than women.
And this was proof of our sexist culture.
Today there are more women than men on our campus.
And this is proof that men are stupid.

I think I see a big part of the problem right there, princess.
Her: “I’m $70,000 in debt and have a college degree for a secretary job that nets me less than $40,000/yr!”
Him: “I went to a trade school and pull in $50/hr, and I’m so busy I have to turn down work.”
Her: “You don’t have a degree?! You must be stupid or something!”
Well maybe some of these women are looking in the wrong place. In a couple of years the first group of seafarers will finish a 30 month program offered by the American Maritime Officers union. They will have earned a US Coast Guard License, unlimited horse power, third assistant engineer. These engineer may work 30 days on 30 days off.
During their on time they will work 7 days a week and usually 10-12 hours a day. In their first year they will make about $75,000 (plus tax free room and board when working). Perhaps some of the women college graduates with degrees in art history should consider dating these young men (and the male college graduates with degrees in liberal arts should consider dating the young women who graduate from this program).

If the woman had any brains, she would go look at the guys in the CS, EE, and other technical and engineering majors.
They’re geeks. They don’t get out much, and don’t get a lot of attention from women. But they are smart and hard working. They will be grateful for any attention from a halfway intelligent and decent looking woman.
But you better hurry. They are almost ready to start making their own women...
That said, if I am widowed, my next wife will be an illiterate 18 year old Peasant girl. I will refuse to allow her to learn English, and will only lavish her with praise if she keeps the house clean and cooks well. If this turns off some of you single Freeper women, good.
What a bunch of crap. There are many factors, but the main reason is women’s “hypergamy” - fully pushed by feminists and liberals. So this goes on until one day they are bitter cat lady and have hit “the wall”.
