Because they are further “Downhill” (South) and water runs downhill, then when it hits the Equator it stops and begins to backup. ;)
Oh sure...as if the water down there in the Atlantic Ocean near Florida somehow interacts and influences all the other water in the Atlantic...do you think we are imbeciles or something??

Isn’t it obvious? Gravity is different there. This causes the sea level to rise only in areas that are dramatic to the uninformed.
