Is this substance anything like Olestra?

People were cautioned against consuming more than a modicum of of the substance, which was promoted several years ago as a “fat substitute”.

Now remember, most of the objections came from an organization that calls itself “Center for Science in the Public Interest”, known for their widespread application of incomplete studies and generally junk science in their pursuit of an agenda.

Among their objections were assertions that the fat-soluble nutrients in the blood stream were depleted at an unusual rate, far in excess of expected drops. This included many vitamins and various carotenoids, which were then excreted fro the body, and the presence of the Olestra caused sometimes severe bouts of diarrhea or bowel leakage. This agency also wanted to link Olestra with carcinogenic activity, but this is just one of their typical scare tactics.

Expect the same kind of assault on this new product.
