Donald Trump isn't going on the attack against Ben Carson not yet, at least.
"Well, I'm much better as a counterpuncher, so I'd rather have, and I'm hoping for Ben to really hit me at some point, because I love to counterpunch," the Republican presidential candidate said in response to a question on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," adding that the retired neurosurgeon has "been very nice to me, he's actually a really nice guy."
. Trump remarked that he and Carson get along well, and that he gets along well with most of the other people who will be appearing with him on the debate stage on Sept. 16.
"And it's interesting, but I think Im probably going to wait," Trump said. "I do have certain things to say, but I'm not going to be saying them for a little while. Lets see what happens."
On Thursday, a Monmouth national poll revealed that among several Republican contenders, only Carson defeated Trump in a hypothetical matchup (55 percent to 36 percent).
In an interview with the Daily Caller on Wednesday, Trump was questioned whether Carson had the right experience to be president.
Hes really a friend of mine, I just think its a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasnt creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses. Its such a different world. Ive created tens of thousands of jobs over the years," he answered.
Aides for Trump's campaign have been hesitant to criticize Carson as well, though one staffer did take a shot at Carson's endorsement of legal relief for immigrants who come to the United States illegally
The clue is that Cruz has hitched his wagon to truth in government, and nothing else.
He praises all of the candidates that speak of things that are in his agenda. That is refreshing.
Nobody but the low info gang have hitched their wagon to Trump, the White Obama.
.
“eventually see that Cruz really is their guy”
We could see Cruz overtake Trump so that Cruz is “our guy” for the election. Cruz is the best, no doubt about it.
But I figure that we can have the best candidate, Cruz, and lose against the Dem candidate, or have less-than-perfect Trump and win against the Dem candidate. I’d rather have Trump than Sanders, Hillary, or Biden.
Totally disagree. Trump and Carson and Cruz are the ONLY effective anti-establishment candidates and they will be the only ones getting my vote.
.
Disagree all you wish, but the MSM, (and Rush) are working hard to dump Trump on us.
Carson and Cruz are the only ‘conservative’ candidates.
Trump is the white Obama, with every one of his supporters thinking he offers pie in the sky, due to the bloviating time the MSM give him on their dime.
.
Why do you think Trump and Cruz have met 5 times? Why do you think Trump and Cruz are doing the Anti Iran Rally tomorrow at 1:00PM in case you want to tune in? Why do you think Cruz is so chummy with the low info candidate who only a moron would vote for? So is Cruz as moron too?
Of course a majority of Republican voters must be morons as Trump is in a runaway lead for the nomination and Cruz is polling at 4%-8% depending on which poll you look at?
Cruz will be way more effective as AG than President anyway. He will go on a crusade to clean up the corruption which is rampant.
You continue to wish for something that is not going to happen. Prepare for disappointment. :-)
As I indicated earlier, I’ve got your number, and intellectually speaking, it is not a big one.
Trump has no understanding of judicial issues, and everything we face presently requires deep understanding of the judiciary.
Cruz is the top of the heap on that issue.
He is quite literally the man that single-handedly saved us from being under the jurisdiction of the world court.
.
“Ive got your number, and intellectually speaking, it is not a big one.”
No you don’t have anybody’s number as you still believe somehow a miracle will occur and Cruz will zoom to the top of the polls from 4%. That is not a rational thought. That is fantasy land.
Hopefully Trump will bring Cruz along as VP and close consultant. Or as I indicated previously AG.
Trump has rightly realized that nobody with power is going to challenge the SCOTUS ruling on gay marriage. I applaud Kim Davis and Trump has expressed sympathy for her but if the governor’s of 10 or more states will not stand up and invoke the 10th amendment then county court clerks are going to change nothing.
I would like Trump in the White House, Cruz as VP and Allen West as Secretary of defense.John Bolton as Secretary of State and Carl Rove as Ambassador to Ellsworth Island.
