There is no big picture. Immigration laws were made by legislatures and the Kentucky homo marriage “law” was made by judges. Judges do not get to make law according to the constitution. Kentucky passed a marriage amendment with 75% approval that defined marriage for their state in the normal way.
So the immigration laws are more rock solid because they went thru the legislative rather than judicial opinion procedure. All the more moral authority for INSISTING that the sanctuary cities MUST obey the immigration laws. And now Trump has that moral authority.
