TOO BAD. His matches with Ric Steamboat and tag team with Andre the Giant were classic wrestling entertainment.

Growing up in Vancouver, WA, we would watch Portland Wrestling (later changed to Big Time Wrestling) in the 60’s though the mid 80’s every Saturday night and some of the future big WWF and WWE stars seem to got their start there. We had Jimmy “Super Fly” Snuka, Jesse “the Body” Ventura, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and there were others but none that went on to the bright lights like these 3. Those guys were like gods to us and the occasional trip to the Portland Sports Arena (more like a dumpy warehouse) were better than Disneyland. All the really big matches were held on Tuesday (chair match, death cage match) but Saturdays were used to hook you in.
