You’re right, thank you.
Not that it was Smith’s fault that it sucked. He should never have been cast. The best parts of the movie were from Kevin Kline as Artemus Gordon.
Yes...Woody was James’ nephew and Niven was Bond....
Robert Conrad was James West...Will Smith was.....well...Will Smith acting like Conrad...*L*
No wait, his name Out On Bond
Why does there have to be a black James Bond? Can’t we have a new character named Michael Brown? He could go around jacking up cops and trying to shoot them with their own guns...oh, wait.
*ROFL* That’s good.....
So maybe I just learned something. I always heard Casino Royale was the first Bond movie, apparently not true in the Sellers/Niven/Woody Allen case. I am seeing a TV version from 1954 (A few years before my youth), but the Sellers/Niven movie not until 1967, so I guess that’s right. My first in theatre was Diamonds are Forever in 71, then I watched the previous ones when they came on TV.
Best post of the thread...LOL
Apparently, they did parodies of popular movies in the 1960’s.
It was a made-for-television production back in the Fifties.
So wouldn’t casting a black to play a traditionally white character just for the sake of having a black play the role be just a little racist? I am more than a little tired of this crap. We’ve now had a black Ralph Camden, James West, Dr. Doolittle, the list goes on. All have failed. Inclusion is one thing, but if you want a black in a lead role, write a new story, for cryin’ out loud!
Having seen every Bond movie (good and bad) except the 54 Casino Royale, I am now going to have to try to find it on NetFlix or somewhere, just to be complete. Does anyone know if it was actually good?
“American Gangster”, which is actually a really good movie.
I tend to think that the black community today has a tremendous amount of respect for the main character that is a drug dealing cold blooded killer that projects his wealth and clever sophistication making deals and avoiding the law.
He is their hero.
We’ve only seen Bond drive a mustang, it Would be nice to see him in a Caddy!
It’s an awful movie.
It’s a spoof.
But it does have a cast of very popular actors and a few very attractive women that may hold your attention.
No, I have seen the spoof. The one I seem to have missed was the made for TV original.
I think Adrian Paul would make an excellent 007. “There can be only one!”
