Mine was in a Cadillac belonging to one of my sister’s aerobic clients. I happened to be there babysitting when the woman came in asking for help to get the little kitten out of her car. After all, there are lots of places for a cat, especially that small, to hide, and they move fast.
We opened the hood and on top of the air filter eas the kitty. He started to move but I was fast enough to catch him. He became my Dutch, named for the bunny because he looked like that.
And then there is my beloved Ashley, who got a little nicked and ran off and hid in shock, inside a distant groundhog hole in the wild. My beloved dog helped me find him and drag him out, he was in such shock. He habitually went into cars and this one belonged to a couple my mom was tutoring; they stopped after driving a half mile realizing something was wrong. He was terrified by then, so no problem with the car, only groundhog holes.
Great stories.
Another of our barn cats decided to take a nap atop the left rear axel spring. I had to run an errand about 6 miles away. It was a new truck and I was cussing the autoworkers that assembled it as it suddenly developed a squealing noise in the rear suspension.
When I got to the hardware store I kept hearing the noise after I got out. A quick inspection showed what the problem was.
That old cat got the ride if its life.
