Deep fried COFFEE? Now I’ve seen everything!
You really CAN deep fry anything!
Oh my. A trip to the Oklahoma State Fair is in order.
Ugh. I got nauseous just reading that list.
Everything on there that isn’t deep fried, should be.
Dang, that fair food sounds good. The best and most creative culinary dishes are at your State Fair.
There isn’t anything on that list I wouldn’t try. Yum.
OMG I want that! I LOOOOOVE mushrooms.
Fifty years ago the Tulsa World told how the best burgers at the State fair were composed of hamburger, spices, and sweat dripping of the end of the cook’s nose.
I’ll never forget at the New Mexico state fair 60 years ago, it was dark, dust was blowing, and my sister wanted some cotton candy. As we sat and waited for my mom to rejoin us, we saw the salesman sell cotton candy to a kid. As the kid walked away, the kid go mad about something and threw the candy down in the dust.
The salesman looked right, then left, left his candy stall, picked up the candy out of the dust, stripped off the outside, covered it with new cotton candy and put it out for sale to unsuspecting buyers. Dad refused to buy us any cotton candy.
Strange the things you remember from the past.
I’ll have s’more bacon.
Who wants a pineapple whip?
Pineapple whip? Pineapple whip?
Three pineapple whips!
Deep fried mushrooms are best served with a horseradish dippy sauce...mmmmmmmmm.....
Cue Homer Simpson
*sigh* Now I really need them! Want so bad!
A cool thing at the Ok fairgrounds is that you can park under airplanes at one spot. They have concrete pylon mounted B52; B47; C47 and a smaller twin job.
Bump
We had deep fried ‘ritas a couple of years ago at the Texas State Fair. They were wonderful! Will be interesting to see what they come up with this year.
I have always wanted to take two or three years and travel to as many state fairs as possible.
In between fair seasons I would spend travelling to various eateries I have seen on TV.
I wonder if such a trip is survivable?
Can you get Guy Fieri to drive?
