Most automotive mechanical engineers said that if the suspension piece that impacted Senna’s helmet had not hit him, Senna would have been bruised, but still walked away from that accident (he was wearing a HANS device that day). If that suspension piece missed him, I think there was a chance he would seriously considered “retiring” for the season because there were a lot of serious handling issues with the race car he was driving.
