No, he isn’t. While there are Republicans in Illinois, there is no Republican Party. There is only The Combine. Generally speaking, true! Rauner seems to be playing hardball on the State Budget and pension issues though ... we've not seen that before from ANY governor in recent memory.

“Seems to be”, I’ll grant you that. And I’m really trying to be hopeful, but I’ve been here to long to let hope get the upper hand. The Combine will let the entire state crash and burn before they relinquish power.
