This kid looks like a major league hitter - and he's 12! Williamsport will be a fun place for the next week with a local team in the hunt.
When a team such as this dominates its competition to this extreme, one has to wonder about the legality of the team members........
Either that or they’re just really good.
Love the LLWS. Red Land looks like a powerhouse. Good thing for them pitchers can’t pitch two games in a row nowadays though. The top pitcher for S. Carolina throws it 80 mph and has a curve and a slider. He threw a no-hitter in the Regional finals then came back and threw another no-hitter in the first game of the LLWS against Rhode Island.
The “kid” (who is about 6 foot tall) has the best “stuff” I have seen at Williamsport in years. Virtually unhittable.
Oh, absolutely! When an American team wins, it’s obviously because they cheated. But if China, or Japan or anyone else wins when THEY play, well, one must never question the ages of their little darlins./ S
That local PA team has been on public display for all to see, through all those victories, with nary a question, even from the teams they creamed. But let them cream a team from MO, and rather than congrats, they get sour grapes inuendo. I hope they keep on kicking butts, right up to winning the championship.
There is a bit of history there:

Yeah...I think they are just really good...and the coaching is very good these days for a lot of teams. Of course when the New York team won some years back they cheated (14 year old pitcher), and everybody knows how bad the Chicago team cheated last year - stripped of the USA Championship for bringing in a team of “ringers” from other districts.
I’m sure it’s a temptation for those with low moral fiber. I remember when my son played for East Marietta Little League 10 years ago we had a really good team. Great hitting and solid pitching - but no real standout pitcher. We played Douglass County in the District tournament and they had a tall rangy pitcher with a great fastball and a really good curve. He shut us out and they beat us 1-0 the first game. Due to the rules though he couldn’t pitch every game and they didn’t have any depth so we ended up winning the tournament and went on to the State level.
Us Dads were talking and we all agreed that if we just had that one kid from Douglass County on our team we would have had a real chance to go to Williamsport.
The same thing could have been said about Jackie Robinson West last year......
No doubt about it, Red Land is very good and I hope they are on the up and up. They'll be fun to watch.
When is Red Land’s next game?
Great to see local kids playing so well. Not one of these kids participating from any of the teams should hang their heads. they all made it very far and should cherish every minute of being some of the very best in the nation. Red Land is a great team and well coached. I wish them luck and hope they take it to final victory!

How insensitive for those little tykes to run the score up on their poor widdle opponents!
They should have called the game earlier and given out the participation trophies.

Thanks for the schedule!
Weird to see Uganda in there and to see they actually beat the Dominican Republic (usually the Carib. team is pretty darn good).
You never know though - I remember when Saudi Arabia made it to the LLWS and I thought “really?”. Then I saw one of their games on TV and realized it was a team of American oil workers’ kids - not an Arab on the team :^)
Sure hope they have all their ducks in a row regarding proper documentation on residency and age. Little League Camps has taken a number of hit in recent years.
Wow, what a game. Turned it on when the PA (Red Land) team was at bat in the 2nd inning. They must have been at bat for at least 30 minutes. Wondered what the batter was doing when he lifted his leg for each pitch. Then bam out of there.
I coach Pony and just had to verify birth dates of all boys on my roster and then certify in front of two witnesses that the information was correct.
It is standard for our league and we have never had any problems.
Beautiful picture.
