Given my choice of those 10 knives, I'd go with the SOG. Schrade, Gerber, Buck never made knives in a style that appealed to me, barring my old Buck 110 that I bought when I was in my 20s. In those days, well-made mass production knives were a rarity and the 110 filled the bill for me. Customs were out of the question because they were way too expensive.

Here's the style KA-BAR I'm talking about (the official US Marine Corps KA-BAR):

BTW, I've purchased many knives from the Cutlery Shoppe --> http://www.cutleryshoppe.com. Their prices are fair and their catalog is always interesting. Even now there are things I'd like to buy when I look at their website! Plaza Cutlery is also really good. I've also purchased quite a few from Nordic Knives. (I'm not affiliated with any of these companies.)

My buck 110 is 35 years old. It's been through hell - Macassar Ebony Handles and all.
