Archaeology professor Curtis Runnels from Boston University, for instance, says that he is "not persuaded" by the arguments in favour of the so-called pyramids because cultures capable of producing such "colossal buildings" came about in that region only about 2,500 years ago.

I think these Bosnian pyramids have been debunked, BUT

What kind of historian says something can't be so because of a current understanding -- rather than investigating the information to see if the current understanding needs to be revised?

The professor's view probably has to do with the fact that there's no continuity of activity between the fake archaeologist's claimed 10K and the sudden appearance of actual durable structures. So I'm not sure why you're directing criticism at him, when this Von Danniken style amusement park builder isn't being held to any apparent standard at all.
