At work, I put Scotch tape over the camera to my computer, and I don’t have any webcams at home. So I’m not worried.

Be willing to be that cameras are embedded (if not already) into tv’s so you can be watched.

As soon as I got my new computer monitor I put a piece of black cardboard taped over the hole......

I have no intentions of using that. There’s enough “intrusions” into our homes without asking for it!
